Announcements and Welcome LuAnn McClanahan, Liturgist

Call to Worship (Responsive) - Psalm 98

O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done wonderful things.

He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!

He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

Let us worship, praise, and thank the Almighty!

*Hymn #31 - Let Us with a Gladsome Mind

Prayer of Confession (Unison)

God of mercy, we ask forgiveness for talking too much and doing too little. We ask

forgiveness for those times when we’ve caused conflict, divisiveness, and needless

pain to others. We confess that we get angry at people at home, at our jobs, at

church. Forgive us for blaming others while firmly believing in our own opinion.

Grant us awareness of all those different than we are, those whose customs and

habits make us defensive and uncomfortable. Open our minds and hearts to be the

loving children you have created and called us to be.

And now, Lord, I confess specifically.....(silent prayers)

Assurance of Pardon (responsive) - Psalm 103

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

God does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according

our iniquities.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that our sins are forgiven.

Thanks be to God. AMEN.

Passing of the Peace

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

And also with you.

Note** The Session has voted to move the worship service into

the Fellowship Hall through late-March, 2018. This

action was taken due to the cost of heating the Sanctuary

during the winter.

Each Sunday through the winter, there will be coffee, juice and

doughnuts available in the Kitchen/Fellowship Hall at 10:30 am. This

will allow for a time of fellowship before our worship service. If you

would like to provide for this fellowship, there is a sign-up sheet

available in the kitchen.

Please continue to bring soup, peanut butter and other food items for

the “Feeding My Sheep” Food Pantry. We will collect these items

through mid-February.
