Call to Worship (Responsive) - Johann Franck, 1650
Jesus priceless treasure, source of purest pleasure, truest friend to me, ah, how long
I’ve panted, and my heart has fainted, thirsting, Lord, for Thee!
Thine I am, O spotless Lamb: nothing in the world can hide Thee, naught
I ask beside Thee.
In Thine arm I rest me; foes who would oppress me cannot reach me here. Though
the earth be shaking, every heart be quaking, Jesus calms my fear.
Lightnings flash and thunders crash: yet, though sin and hell assail me,
Jesus will not fail me.
Hence all fears and sadness! For the Lord of gladness, Jesus, enters in: God who
dearly loves us, from all trial saves us; gives sweet peace within.
I have borne this worldly scorn; still in Thee lies purest pleasure, Jesus,
Let us worship our Lord Jesus, priceless treasure!
*Hymn #815 - Give to the Winds Thy Fears
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Holy and merciful God, in you presence we confess our failure to be what you
created us to be. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from
your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. By your loving mercy,
help us to live in your light and abide in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.....(silent prayers)
Assurance of Pardon (responsive) - Psalm 103
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
God does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according
In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that our sins are forgiven.
Thanks be to God. AMEN.
Passing of the Peace
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.
*Hymn #738 - O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee

The Sermon “The Plan” Pastor Brad Napier
“But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
- Paul, Romans 5:8
The Affirmation of Faith (Unison) - The Confession of 1967, 9.08, BOC
In Jesus of Nazareth true humanity was realized once for all. Jesus lived among his
people and shared their needs, temptations, joys and sorrows. He expressed the
love of God in word and deed and became a brother to all kinds of sinful people.
But his complete obedience led him into conflict with his people. His life and
teaching judge their goodness, religious aspirations, and national hopes. Many
reject him and demanded his death. In giving himself freely for them he took upon
himself the judgment under which all men stand convicted. God raised him from
the dead, vindicating him as Messiah and Lord. The victim or sin became victor,
and won the victory over sin and death for all people. AMEN

Note** The Session has voted to move the worship service into
the Fellowship Hall through late-March, 2018. This
action was taken due to the cost of heating the Sanctuary
during the winter.
Each Sunday, there will be coffee, juice and doughnuts available in the
Kitchen/Fellowship Hall at 10:30 am. This will allow for a time of
fellowship before our worship service. If you would like to provide for
this fellowship, there is a sign-up sheet available in the kitchen.
