Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Holy God, you have given us a sure word, sealed by your Spirit in the free gift of
your Son. In Christ you have set us free from bondage, bound up and healed our
wounds, and led us into paths of peace. But still we listen to other voices, as
though your word were just one among others. God, in your mercy forgive us.
Enable us to live each day by your faithful, Holy Spirit.

The Week Ahead
Today: Buchanan County Ministerial Association Community
Thanksgiving Service, 6:00 pm. Come join our brothers and sisters
in Christ as we worship, praise and acknowledge God’s blessings.
The Presbyterian Women will have a reception with light
refreshments after the service.
Wednesday: Lydia Circle will not meet.
The Focus on Giving for the Presbyterian Women this month is The
Domestic Violence Shelter. Personal care and hygiene items are
always needed. Please leave items in the Angel Room.
Mid-week Holy Communion, 12:15 pm
There will be no Church School this evening.
Thursday: THANKSGIVING DAY
Friday: The Church office will be closed. Deadline for December
newsletter items to be e-mailed to the office.
Sunday, November 26: CHRIST THE KING SUNDAY.
Elder David Cecil be preaching in the absence of Pastor Napier,
who will be out of town for vacation. He will be returning later in

Sunday, December 3: FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
Holy Communion will be served during worship.
Quarterly Fellowship dinner after worship, with soup, sandwiches,
salads and sweets to be served. After the meal, we will decorate the
church for Christmas.
Thursday, December 7: The PW will provide lunch for students at the
Law School. The food will be delivered to the Law School activity
Tuesday, December 12: Stated meeting of the Session.
Wednesday, December 13: The pastor invites the Presbyterian Women from
Buchanan First and Vansant Presbyterian to the manse for the annual
Christmas party. All Presbyterian women are invited.
Sunday, December 17: A traditional Christmas Dinner will be held after
worship. Ham and turkey will be provided for all to enjoy. You’re
invited to bring a covered dish and a friend and share in the joy and
fellowship of the Christmas spirit. After the meal, we will gather
around the piano and sing Christmas carols and songs of the season.
We will take the Christmas Joy Offering in December. 50% of this
offering is divided equally to provide critical financial assistance to church
leaders in time of need - financial, housing and medical. The remaining
50% goes to support opportunities for future leaders at Presbyterian racial
ethnic schools by giving scholarships and equippng racial ethnic leaders for

Flowers and Memorials
Mack and Kaye Keen, sanctuary flowers to the glory of God and in loving
memory of Ira M. Keen, Sr., and Therman and Mona Belle Boyd.
We will be purchasing poinsettias to be placed in the sanctuary on December
17 and 24. They will be $10.00 each. Please let the office know by Friday,
December 15, if you wish to purchase a poinsettia. If you wish, you may add
your name to the list one the clipboard place on the front pew in the sanctuary.
